Hey folks, I’m hoping someone here might have some insight into what’s going on with my 2020 Ford Ranger (2.3L EcoBoost). Out of nowhere, the check engine light decided to make an appearance, and at the same time, my cruise control stopped working. It’s like the truck is going on strike and refusing to let me have any fun. 😅
From what I’ve read online, this could be a sign of several things. Some people mentioned it might be related to a misfire, while others suggested it could be something as simple as a loose gas cap (fingers crossed it’s that easy). I’ve also heard it could be tied to sensors like the throttle position sensor or even a problem with the ABS system, which apparently can cause the cruise control to shut off.
I haven’t noticed any other major symptoms – the truck still drives fine, no strange noises or loss of power. I’m trying to avoid a trip to the dealer unless it’s absolutely necessary (because we all know how pricey that can get). Has anyone else experienced something like this? Any tips on what I should check before I cave and make that service appointment?
