Title: Can I safely exceed the payload capacity on a Ford Ranger?
Threaded Mode
#1
I’ve got a 2019 Ford Ranger with the 2.3L EcoBoost engine, and I’ve been wondering about the payload capacity. The manual says it’s rated for about 1,860 pounds, but I’ve got a job coming up where I might need to load it up a bit more than that. Maybe just 50-100 pounds over the limit. Has anyone here pushed their Ranger beyond the official payload rating? I’m not trying to overload it by a ton, but is going slightly over safe, or am I asking for trouble? I’ve heard people say the truck can handle it, but I don’t want to risk damaging the suspension or voiding the warranty. Anyone got experience with this or any tips on how much is too much?”
