Title: Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 firing order: What’s the correct sequence?
Threaded Mode
#1
I’ve got my hands dirty swapping out some spark plugs on my Ford Ranger, and now I’m second-guessing the firing order. I know messing this up can turn the engine into a misfiring mess. Can anyone confirm the correct firing order for the 4.0L V6? Appreciate the help!

I’ve been there before, second-guessing myself after a plug swap. No worries—on the 4.0L V6 in your Ford Ranger, the correct firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6. Just make sure you’ve got the wires connected to the right plugs, starting with cylinder 1 at the front on the passenger side, and you’ll be good to go. Double-check everything before you fire it up; it's always better to be safe than sorry. I’ve learned that the hard way!
