Title: Recommended spark plug gap for a 2005 Ford Ranger 3.0L?
Threaded Mode
#1
What’s the recommended spark plug gap for a 2005 Ford Ranger 3.0L? I’m about to do a tune-up and want to make sure I’ve got everything set just right. I’ve heard some people go with a slightly different gap—any advice?

When I did a tune-up on my 2005 Ford Ranger with the 3.0L engine, I went with the recommended spark plug gap of 0.044 inches. That's what Ford suggests, and it's worked well for me. Some folks do tweak the gap a bit, but I’d stick with the factory spec unless you have a specific reason to change it, like running a performance mod or something. If everything’s stock, 0.044 inches should give you the best balance of performance and efficiency. Just make sure to double-check the gap before installing the plugs—it’s worth the extra minute to get it right.
