Title: Ford Ranger Key Fob Not Working
Threaded Mode
#1
Is anyone else having issues with their Ford Ranger key fob not working? Mine suddenly stopped responding, and I’ve changed the battery, but nothing’s changed. I’m not sure if it’s a programming issue or something more serious. Would love to hear if anyone else has dealt with this and what the fix was!

I’ve had the same issue with my Ford Ranger key fob—it just stopped working out of nowhere. Like you, I changed the battery first, but when that didn’t help, I realized it might be a programming issue. One thing that worked for me was reprogramming the fob. It’s a pretty simple process, but it varies a bit depending on the model year.

Here’s what I did:

  1. Get in the truck and close all the doors.
  2. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (without starting the engine) eight times within 10 seconds, ending in the RUN position. You should hear the locks cycle, which means you’ve entered programming mode.
  3. Press any button on the key fob within 20 seconds. If you’ve done it right, the locks should cycle again to confirm that the fob is programmed.

If that doesn’t do the trick, it might be a deeper issue like the receiver in the truck or a problem with the fob itself. In that case, it’s worth having a dealer or a locksmith check it out.

But before you head down that road, try the reprogramming trick. It’s worked for me and a few others on the forum. Hopefully, it’ll get your fob working again without any hassle!
