Title: Can I install larger tires on my Ford Ranger without a lift?
Threaded Mode
#1
I’ve got a 2020 Ford Ranger with the 2.3L EcoBoost, and I’m planning to take it off-road more often, so I want to get some bigger tires for a little extra ground clearance. Right now, I’m thinking of upgrading to 285/70R17 tires, but I don’t want to invest in a lift kit just yet. I’ve heard some people say you can fit larger tires on the stock suspension without a lift, but others mention issues with rubbing the fenders or the tires hitting the wheel wells. Does anyone know if 285/70R17s will fit without rubbing or causing problems when turning? I don’t mind a bit of trimming if necessary, but I’d rather avoid it if possible. What’s the largest tire size you’ve managed to fit on a stock Ranger, and how’s the ride quality been?
