So, I’m getting ready for a big camping trip with my 2020 Ford Ranger XLT, and I’m wondering how much weight the bed can actually handle. I’ve got the 2.3L EcoBoost and it’s a SuperCrew, so I’m pretty sure the cargo capacity is decent, but I don’t wanna push my luck and overload the truck. I’m planning to haul a bunch of gear – tents, coolers, and probably some firewood – but I’m also worried about messing up the suspension if I go overboard.
From what I’ve read, the payload capacity on the 2020 Ranger is around 1,500 pounds, depending on the configuration. But does anyone have real-world experience with loading up the bed? How much weight can I safely throw in there without causing any issues? I don’t wanna be that guy stranded on the side of the road because I didn’t do my homework.
