Title: How to Reset Oil Life on a Ford Ranger (2018 Model) - Guide
Threaded Mode
#1
For those of you who are new to DIY maintenance, resetting the oil life indicator on your Ford Ranger is easier than you might think. I drive a 2018 model, and I’ve done this a few times now. If you’re like me and sometimes forget to reset the indicator after an oil change, don’t worry—it’s a quick and painless process. Here’s how you can do it yourself:

Turn on the Ignition: Start by turning the ignition key to the 'ON' position without starting the engine. If you have a push-button start, press the start button once without pressing the brake pedal.

Navigate to the Settings Menu: Use the steering wheel controls to navigate to the 'Settings' menu on the dashboard display.

Select Vehicle Settings: Scroll through the options and select 'Vehicle Settings.'

Find the Oil Life Reset Option: Within the Vehicle Settings, look for 'Oil Life Reset' or something similar.

Press and Hold the Reset Button: Once you’ve selected the Oil Life Reset option, press and hold the 'OK' button on the steering wheel until the oil life percentage resets to 100%.

Turn Off the Ignition: Turn off the ignition, and you’re all set!

It’s really that simple! You’ll save yourself a trip to the dealer and a bit of cash by doing it on your own. Plus, it’s a good way to stay on top of your truck’s maintenance needs. If anyone has any other tips or tricks for DIY maintenance on the Ranger, feel free to share!
